Abstract:
In response to the rapidly growing demand to consider education leadership as value-driven and ethically based, this paper presents a conceptual model of school leadership grounded in the teachings of the Quran. The research applies thematic analysis of prominent Quranic leadership principles and, therefore, develops constructs, namely justice (Adl), trustworthiness (Amanah), humility (Tawadu), consultation (Shura), and guidance (Hidayah). Such values are critically examined and applied to educational leadership to establish a spiritually powered, ethically grounded leadership paradigm. The Quranic focus on justice makes fairness and impartiality the key features of institutional governance. In contrast, trustworthiness makes moral responsibility and ethical accountability the leading qualities of the leadership positions. Humility refrains from authority as custodianship rather than dominance, with a view to encouraging service leadership. The Shura principle promotes participation in decision-making and joint work in school communities. Lastly, direction highlights the necessity of a leader to develop moral and academic growth. By combining these interdependent concepts, this paper offers a comprehensive theory of school leadership that balances organizational success with moral uprightness and spiritual awareness, thereby contributing to the growing literature on faith-based models of leadership.
